SHORT BIO

Originally from Costa Rica, where he worked as an engineer in a rocket propulsion lab, Edgar traveled to Prague in 2011 to study cinema at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU), where he earned a B.A. in film editing and an M.A. in directing film and digital media.

He works as a writer and director across documentary and scripted projects, with series broadcast on ZDF, TF1, AMC and Apple TV+. He is now the co-creator and showrunner of a six-part docuseries for ITV and RTL.

Alongside documentary work, his feature scripts have been optioned by Iconoclast Germany, Ruffian Films, and supported by the Czech Film Fund. He is currently writing a feature film set in 12th-century Saxony. His debut novel, The Black Owl House, is a psychological drama set in 2006 Prague.
